Notesaaz
Notesaaz is a project that was initiated throughout my Masters course at the Interfaculty ArtScience in the Hague. It is based on the idea of utilizing interactive animation as a graphic score for the music as well as the visual representation of the virtual instrument. A custom built gestural input unit is used to steer animated lines in a 2D space. The lines intersect and based on the dimensions and characteristics of each intersection point a sound is made. Performing with ‘Saaz’ includes improvisation on geometric patterns and creates an environment filled with simultaneous audiovisual stimuli.
