Collabs

Collabs stands for the collaboration between the notorious technodinosaur Speedy J (yes, the one from pullover) and the king of 'schranz', Chris Liebing. Put them together and you get a pair that looks up the boundaries of techno, contributes many live performance elements to a battery of gadgets and samplers and underground influences that combines with dance floor house.

Jochem Paap (the Rotterdam artist owes the nickname Speedy J to his DJ skills) is unanimously considered to be one of the first techno producers to come from the Benelux. Together with people like Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twin and Richie Hawtin he helped raising the genre just after it had escaped the Detroit delivery room. Chris Liebing is dj, producer, radio host of a weekly show and the driving force behind the labels CLR and Spinclub Recordings. His sound has continuously evolved during his dj career, always true to his techno roots. He was one of the first djs that used the new possibilities in the course of the digitalization of music in a consequent and creative way.

2005 was the rise of a productive and still continuing friendship between Chris Liebing & Speedy J. This resulted in the album Metalism and several singles, there are already plans ready for the next Collabs album. How epic can it be?
