Edwin van der Heide - DSLE -2-
(2011)
DSLE -2- is an immersive audiovisual environment that challenges the limits of your perception using octophonic loudspeakers and a surround installation made of LED panels that light up a screen surrounding the audience. The precision control over the space and timing of light and sound makes it possible to manipulate perception. Using the way our senses work as his starting point, Edwin van der Heide shows how corresponding and contrasting light and sound throws off our spatial perception. A joint effort between Van der Heide and Philips Large Luminous Surfaces. STRP Festival is proud to host the world premier of this new work!
Credits: Thanks to Philips Large Luminous Surfaces for providing the LED panels to develop and present this work.
