TeZ

PV868,28 is het nummer van het patent van de Dream Machine, een uitvinding uit 1961. Kunstenaar Brio Gysin en wetenschapper Ian Sommerville creëerden deze machine na het lezen van neurowetenschapper W.G. Walter’s book “The Living Brain”, waarin hij voor het eerst alpha-, delta en theta-hersengevolven beschreef. Het is een machine die je via stroboscopische lichten nieuwe visuele stimuli liet ervaren. De bij Optofonica werkzame kunstenaar TeZ heeft de oude Dream Machine gebruikt als inspiratie voor zijn performance PV868.

PV868 is een experimentele performance waarbij met flikkerende lichten, abstract kleurpatronen en speciale ‘binaurale’ beats je hersenen direct beïnvloedt worden. Je hersengolven synchroniseren zich automatisch met dit bombardement van impulsen. Volgens veel experts zullen binaurale tonen in te toekomst niet alleen ingezet worden bij ontspanning en meditatie, maar ook veel gebruikt worden bij behandelen van aandoeningen zoals Parkinson. Laat je brein in de toekomst zweven door aan deze performance deel te nemen! Let op: doe niet mee als je gevoelig bent voor epilepsie!
