Deep Hanging Out

STRP 2020 festival hangout for friends & strangers

When: April 2-5, 12:00-20:00

STRP’s festival hangout. Here, friends and strangers meet to reflect upon STRP’s exhibition and the conversation itself. Together with artists and designers oneseconds, Arvid&Marie, KNOT Kollektiv en Circus Engelbregt, visitors partake in an everchanging conversation about the meaning of dialogue and meeting, while allowing oneself to be amazed and surprised by the encounters taking place throughout the festival.

Deep Hanging Out is a co-production between makers, youngsters and the elderly.

Arvid & Marie

Equally inspired by deep rooted fears and critics about the acceleration of technology as by popular techno-hoaxes and absurd utopias, designerduo Arvid&Marie looks into alternative futures where non-human actors are able to express themselves as well. “We believe that researching how humans express themselves, philosophically and technologically, can lead to long lasting, positive change.”

Circus Engelbrecht

Circus Engelbregt

Circus Engelbregt initiates and develops (art)projects on the edge of contrasting areas that seem to have nothing in common at first. It is in these in between spaces where the self-proclaimed ‘connecting disruptor-organization’ strives for an increase of social durability in the world. The Circus Engelbregt collective is not afraid to grind against the norm nor to be on the lookout for confrontations: “We don’t believe in the fixed and rusty pathways of this Pigeonholing society.”

KNOT Kollektiv

KNOT Kollektiv

KNOT Kollektiv creates interactive, genre-defying performances in which dance, circus and theatre come together in a concentration of forces that overthrows all existing ideas surrounding performance art. Inspired by their desire to make way for community and commonality, KNOT Kollektiv gives stage to their work in- and outside the classical boundaries of theatre.

Oneseconds Robin © Alysha Clemens

Cross-over artist collective oneseconds designs and presents games, performances and installation pieces. Excited by human behavior and our ability to influence it, oneseconds invents and develops activities and self-build tools, asking their audience to actively participate with them. This way, the oneseconds crew shines new light on the aspects of group behavior and systems, by working with and exposing the impact of technology simultaneously.
