What happens when machines learn rhythm—and start jamming with us?

What happens when machines learn rhythm—and start jamming with us?

In this interactive workshop, participants are introduced to the digital entities from Ways of [ ]: robotic percussion systems trained on the rhythms of steam engines, looms, and industrial sounds. Participants experiment with sound, timing, and interaction, exploring how these systems listen, respond, and play along musically. Through drums, algorithmic patterns, and physical input, a dialogue between human and machine emerges, in which every action influences the whole. The workshop offers an exploratory environment focused on collaboration, experimentation, and musical feedback, concluding with a joint interactive jam session.

Participants should bring a laptop with TouchDesigner on it.

This workshop is open to all, regardless of experience or knowledge.
