We are not and never were disconnected senses, but human beings.
Our senses merge into experiences, which form our very individual perspectives and feelings.
This is diversity.
We are exposed mostly to forced tags and less to the embracing of these differences as exactly the points where we meet.
Sound and image do not exist without the one hearing and seeing.

This evening is our effort to reveal the strength in a simple unity of a moment shared between beings and senses alike. We wish to open the idea of the “audiovisual” and give place to a space where the sounds, the screens, the lights and beams, the shadows, the room and everyone in it, all become one entity.

Lea Fabrikant creates, destroys, patches and compiles expressions in between sound & image.

Tarik Barri is a Dutch audio-visual composer who has developed his own software to create audiovisual performances with and to explore new aesthetics in visuals, sounds, and the worlds in between.

Barri frequently collaborates with other artists like Robert Henke, Thom Yorke and Paul Jebanasam, and will premiere a new collaboration with Peder Mannerfelt on this night.

Together, Lea Fabrikant and Tarik Barri curated an evening for STRP based around the theme of visual music – music that is expressed not only through layers in sounds, but also through layers in vision.

LABOUR is a new collaborative project which seeks to contribute towards a space — both physical and psychological— of nonconforming social practices and identities, and revisits the nature of work as a potentially transformative activity.

next time, die consciously (بیگانگی) is the first in their estrangement series and operates simultaneously on multiple temporalities — from microsounds and stochastic synthesis to rhythmic cycles to acknowledging that which propels beyond — and takes a critical stance towards notions of regulated time via processes of disruption and by embracing both rhythmic instability and sound as sculptural material.

next time, die consciously (بیگانگی) is the title of both their debut live show and debut release.

From obtuse angles to intense physicality, Peder Mannerfelt’s highly individual take on techno demands attention and consideration. While his many-sided body of work reaches back more than a decade, the Swedish producer’s current investigations in the field of experimental dance music are as prolific as they are unpredictable.

To date he has recorded an accomplished series of albums as Roll The Dice alongside Malcolm Pardon, explored a more direct strain of techno as The Subliminal Kid and also lent his production skills to Fever Ray’s acclaimed debut album and 2017’s Plunge.

Transforma produce audiovisual performances, installations, projections for music, video clips, and have worked extensively with theatre and dance. Creating images and atmospheres which establish a connection between the material properties of their subject, abstract storytelling and a hands-on approach to production, they have developed their own language within the live visual experience. They have long standing collaborations with numerous artists, directors and musicians and have performed live and exhibited at many major festivals and venues around the world.

Transforma was formed in 2001 in Berlin by Luke Bennett, Baris Hasselbach and Simon Kraal.
