Open Call 2026: STRP x Deborah Mora
STRP and Deborah Mora are joining forces to offer a unique opportunity for young creatives in the Netherlands. Since STRP will stop after 2026, this will be the last time that we’re inviting you to a workshop series to co-create an artistic work.
Are you an emerging artist, designer, performer, or maker, ready to push boundaries and shape a space that blurs the lines between art, technology, and human experience? Then this is your final chance!
Theme: Can Flowers Bloom in Darkness?
What can be born - and re-born – hidden from daylight, under the surface, away from the eye? When something has ended, and no one is watching?
This question metaphorically investigates what can persist and transform under conditions of invisibility or concealment. Blooming doesn’t need light, it needs relation. And darkness is not defined as absence, but as a fertile condition for transformation.
This co-creation project is about shaping an experimental audiovisual space between permanence and mutation. It explores ways of collecting, archiving, connecting, and transforming into something new. Moving image, light, sound and spatial design will bleed into one another creating an immersive environment that invites to observe, listen, explore, feel and be together.
By bringing intuition, experimentation and teamwork to the forefront, over the period of three weeks, participants will work together with artist and designer Deborah Mora. She will share her creative processes and research methods at the intersection of visuals, music, space, and movement, and live AV performances. Participants will be guided through the creation of an audiovisual space in a collaborative and interdisciplinary way. The result will be presented during the STRP on 20 November in Eindhoven.
About Deborah Mora
In her audiovisual practice, Deborah (aka dhēba) researches, collects, manipulates, and embodies visual materialities, weaving them with sonic storytelling to navigate different spaces, bodies, stories and temporalities. Her research explores hybridity, non-linearity, distortions, the residual, and the unseen. She considers her practice a process of exchanges, with her work being often involved in multidisciplinary collaborations. These materialize in live audiovisual (AV) performances and immersive installations, but also graphic design and art direction in the field of music, performance art and the cultural sector. She is also active as a visual maker and live visual operator (VJ) for clubs, stages and music festivals.

We’re looking for 3 young creatives from any discipline. You might have experience in working with in:
• Visual arts, film or photography
• Scenography, spatial design, interior design or architecture
• Music & sound art
• AV & light design
• Performance & theatre
• Fashion & textiles
• Digital media & software development
• Storytelling or hybrid practices
You are
• Based in the Netherlands and able to travel to Eindhoven.
• Strong in concept and sharp in execution.
• Curious about the intersection of art, music, and technology.
• Open to experimentation and collaboration.
• Available in Eindhoven on the workshop dates mentioned in the timeline.
What to expect
• Co-create an experimental AV performance / installation
• Experiment with visual making tools
• Develop your artistic, AV, and collaborative skills through hands-on making
• Contribute to a STRP event
• Connect with STRP’s network of artists, designers, curators, and cultural professionals
• Participants will get a project fee per participant: €550, - incl. BTW
Timeline
• Application deadline: 4 October
• Interviews: between 5 - 9 October
• Final selection announced: 12 October
Project runs from 31 October to 20 November, on the following days:
• Friday 30 October: 14-16h kick off & introduction (2 hours)
• Saturday 31 October: 10-14h or 12-16h workshop-ing (4 hours)
• Saturday 7 November: 10-16h making (+-4 hours)
• Saturday 14 November: 10-16 making (+-4 hours)
• Preparation – 20 November 12:00 – 16:00 (+- 4 hours)
• STRP 20 November: 18:00 – 04:00
