Liminal Lands

Jakob Kudsk Steensen

Forces and unseen patterns are constantly shaping and reshaping the world we live in. At any given moment, countless transformations take place on a micro-scale, some of which are visible and can be felt, while others remain unnoticed.

For Liminal Lands, artist Jakob Kudsk Steensen immersed himself in the Camargue saltwater region of France for months, creating macro 3D-scans and collecting sound recordings. The installation and VR-experience draws the visitor into the crystallized world of the Camargue. Allowing intimacy with the environment, by feeling the pulsating rhythm of life across the landscape.

Jakob Kudsk Steensen (DK) is an artist working with spatial storytelling through 3D animation, soundscapes, and installations. In the form of intensive fieldwork in collaboration with biologists, composers, and writers, he creates poetic works about unseen natural phenomena.
