Launch: PUBLIC_BETA

Maisa Imamović

PUBLIC_BETA is STRP’s context program in collaboration with researcher and web-developer Maisa Imamović, exploring what hybridity means today.

Building on STRP’s long-standing commitment to hybrid art as an experience unfolding both online and on-site, the program responds to shifting conditions around digital participation, access, and presence. As online spaces become increasingly shaped by platform labor, surveillance, and instability, PUBLIC_BETA asks whether hybridity can still function as a meaningful mode of artistic exchange—and if so, how. Rather than treating hybridity as a fixed format, PUBLIC_BETA approaches it as an open field of inquiry, examining how physical and digital spaces interact, how audiences participate differently, and what new forms of care, infrastructure, and collectivity are required today.

The PUBLIC_BETA program launches on Friday 27 March with the release of a dedicated website that translates STRP’s research on hybridity into a living digital publication. Rather than functioning as an archive of finished works, the website is structured around urgent questions that invite exploration, reflection, and contribution. Navigating between questions instead of authors, visitors engage with hybridity as an open, evolving process—one that continues to grow through audience input and informs STRP’s future research and programming.
