In this Deep Listening workshop you will be introduced to the origins and legacy of Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening® embodied practice and philosophy. Deep Listening practice, developed by Oliveros in collaboration with IONE and Heloise Gold, seeks to expand our awareness of sound and how it travels through time and space, creating a dynamic of interaction, attention, vibration and resonance, internal and external, among all of us.

In the workshop, through body energy exercises, sonic meditations, dream awareness, improvisation and performance of Deep Listening Pieces, you will be guided to experience global and focal attentional dynamics to sound, encountering many possible audible forms beyond ordinary sound perceptions in daily life.

The workshop is facilitated by the sound artist researcher Ximena Alarcón, Deep Listening® certified tutor, who has taught the practice in Colombia, India, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Norway, and the UK, and currently teaches at the Center for Deep Listening.

Participation is free with Expo ticket. However, registration via the ticketshop is necessary. It's a free ticket, specified as 'Workshop: Deep Listening by Ximena Alarcón'.
