STRP x Max Frimout

Kaliedoscopic Futures* Performance Night. Photography Angelina Nikolayeva

This October marked the start of the STRP x Max Frimout project. For three months, the participants of this co-creation project have been working on creating ways to bring experimental performance back into the nightlife. Together with Max, the participants will create and host two Performance Nights that will blur the lines between artist and audience.

The first Performance Night was hosted during the STRP: Kaleidoscopic Futures. November 22nd was a night where body, sound, and space fused together in a way that can only be described as the highlight of the festival. During the performance, the movements of dancers were captured by microphones and translated to sound and light, which then in return inspired the dancers to react. This created a unique composition in which the audience, artists, and technology fused together.

Who is working together with Fax Frimout to create these Performance Nights? Let’s meet the team!

Storyteller João Brito researched the way sound, movement, and space can melt into each other. Farah Hijazi is a multidisciplinary artist whose focus lies on the influence of the crossroads of emotion, relationships, and power systems. Another team member is Nikita Berezko. As an artist, he combines digital and analogue ways of performance with the goal to shine a new light on themes such as sound, nostalgia, and mourning. Designer and curator Giulia del Gobbo stands at the intersection of design and critical writing and discovers ways in which this can be expressed in open-source performance.

Curious about this collaboration and the upcoming Performance Night? The team is currently working on creating yet another surprising interdisciplinary experience. The Performance Night will take place on Saturday night, March 28th in 2026, in the weekend of the STRP Festival. Will we see you there?
