In order to bring her art to life, Sevdaliza built a physical robot - a Femmenoid - that represents the ”perfect” woman. It serves as a vehicle to convey the harsh truth about navigating in the music industry as a woman who does not conform to an industry standard - sonically, physically and mentally
Dahlia has already been introduced to the public online, at STRP Festival 2022 Dahlia is physically shown to the world for the first time. Dahlia is presented on a stage, surrounded by poignant images of how women consciously and unconsciously change as a result of external pressure. A conscious form is plastic surgery, an unconscious form is the depression that can arise due to the pressure to perform. The power of the woman is also present in the installation through protest and community, and processes of birthing, breastfeeding, and caring.
