October marked the start of the creative collaboration between STRP and Bart Hess to create a permanent space in which creative youngsters can come together to experiment, meet, and learn. Together with four artists, Bart is working on designing, creating, and activating this so-called ‘third space.’
After three months of hard work, the third space is becoming more tangible. The space, called PROTOTYPE, will be a dynamic meeting point where the creative community can come together. It will be an environment that will be able to flow from gallery to workshop, and from stage to classroom. This dynamic aspect will ensure that PROTOTYPE will be a unique environment that will constantly be shaped by the people who are present.
Bart and his co-creators hope to welcome you into PROTOTYPE soon. Let’s meet the team!
Having graduated from DAE, Phoebe Zoe Ho focuses on bringing immersive worlds alive through creating interactive experiences. Dauwe Teusink graduated from HKU. As a scenographer, he likes to experiment with the ways that the principles of industrial design can be used to create meaning in his work. Another team member is Stefano Dealessandri, who has experience as an architect and designer and graduated as a visual and spatial storyteller at the KABK. Last but not least is DAE graduate Alice Baker. As an artist, she works together with scientists to translate their findings through glasswork, creating unique experiences.
Would you like to step into PROTOTYPE? It will soon be possible! In April 2026, the space will open its doors. With Microstad as its location, it will be easily accessible and buzzing with creativity. We invite you to become part of this creative hub and bring your own unique dynamic touch.
