Spacemakers is STRP Education's newest program. Spacemakers challenges students to think and to rise above their expectations. These students work together in Eindhoven with an artist, and together they create an artistic project.
Students from secondary education, MBO, and HBO can participate. For some months, they are STRP creators, organizers, programmers, and producers. The artist inspires the group and chooses with them what they are going to do within STRP's 2021 year theme Collectivity. Together they work towards an art project in which an audience is involved in their thoughts and ideas around the theme, for example with an art installation, film screening, or workshop.
Sunjoo Lee & Ko de Beer
From February untill June 2021, students work with artist and designer Sunjoo Lee and Ko de Beer from their own project space in the center of Eindhoven. The Spacemakers Hangout is the meeting place and available every day to work, think, and organize! During STRP Festival the space will be part of the program. This is the perfect opportunity for participants to show their project to STRP Festival attendees!
South Korean visual artist Sunjoo lee and Dutch electronic wizard and musician Ko de Beer are lovers of nature and art, making machines, robots and giving workshops about technology. Since 2018, they have been working together on art and technology projects, like Machine in Flux – Wood: a robot that responds to climate change and translates data into ink drawings that resemble trees’ annual rings.
